"... TO GIVE UNTO THEM BEAUTY FOR ASHES, THE OIL OF JOY FOR MOURNING, THE GARMENT OF PRAISE FOR THE SPIRIT OF HEAVINESS; THAT THEY MIGHT BE CALLED TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,THE PLANTING OF THE LORD, THAT HE MIGHT BE GLORIFIED." ISAIAH 61:3

Good night, dear void.

Well, I've done it. I've crossed over to the 'Blog' side.

I have been a follower of certain blogs for some time now. But the idea of composing one of my own had never really appealed to me. Two questions kept popping up in my mind. 1)What do I have to say to the World Wide Web and 2)Who really cares to hear it? Believe it or not, the answers came last week while I was watching the movie "You've Got Mail".

I'm sure most everyone is familiar with this story. Two New Yorkers, played by Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, fall in love through an internet chat room, not realizing they are business rivals in the real world. A quote that I've heard dozens of times (love this movie!) took on a more personal meaning than ever before.

"The odd thing about this form of communication is that
you're more likely to talk about nothing than something.
But I just want to say that all this nothing has meant more
to me than so many somethings."

My husband, my best friend, is in the military and deployed often. We have moved nine times in the last ten years. Close friendships are hard to come by. I'm blessed with parents who are only a phone call away, and a husband who actually enjoys talking with me. (Either that, or he's in the wrong business - Oscar please!!) But I miss having 'sisters' that I can talk with.

When Joey is gone and mom and dad are three states away, who do I talk to when I'm bursting with pride over something the girls have accomplished - or cry to when I have to yell "I'm your mother! Don't you talk to me that way?"

Well, I've decided that's the best part of having a Blog. It's a form of communication that has no boundaries. You can cover a range of emotions. Talk about everything from the meaning of life to the best way to get dog hair off your blankets! You can ask questions, make statements, or just rant 'til your fingers fall off! You can talk about all the "nothings" in your life that really do add up to some pretty big "somethings". Send them out into the Blog void and feel a sense of release!

So, Blog, will you be my faceless friend, my confidante, my sounding board?

"I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic
question out into the void. So good night, dear void."

  4. Hey Angie girl!!! Welcome to blog land.

Like you, I have gone to read other blogs for many years actually...than finally October 20th 2008 I started my own.

Like you, I have thought, 'does anyone really care what I write about?'...

Well it's amazing..I mean AMAZING how the Lord brings His children together...finding one another through this internet..some across the world from one another, but only a click away.

How what we write can touch, inspire, encourage, bring joy, and hope in one another lives.....so keep on girl..keep on just writing about you, your life, your family and whatever God places on your heart.

He WILL bring others to you...Just what your blog name and scripture states...they will find here...((Hugs)))
